MUMBAI: The city witnessed ‘above normal’ day temperatures on Sunday as maximum temperature recorded by the IMD‘s Santacruz observatory was 36.4 degrees. Day temperature recorded at IMD’s Colaba observatory was 34.8 degrees.
IMD, in its five-day forecast for the city, said that dry weather conditions are likely. Last week, the city recorded light rain activity owing to moisture incursion from the westerly winds.
Night temperature recorded in the city was also on the higher side as IMD’s Colaba and Santacruz observatories recorded minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees and 25.5 degrees.
Unlike Mumbai, the interior parts were witnessing intense heat wave-like conditions as parts of Jalgaon on Sunday recorded day temperature of 39 degrees and Solapur 38.9 degree.
Humidity level recorded in the city was also high with IMD’s Colaba and Santacruz observatories recording relative humidity of 73% and 62% respectively.
