Wednesday Addams, Barbie, Anime faves: Delhi’s ready for a spooky Halloween | Delhi News

What are you dressing up as for Halloween this year? Fans of the spookfest in the capital tells us what’s influencing their costume choice – from the popularity of anime to the success of web shows like Wednesday and films like Barbie.
“With Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday, the Addams Family became more popular. I feel this year Wednesday Addamswould be the go-to character for many.I love her demeanour and her little quips. I will wear a full-sleeved black dress with boots, make two braids, apply kohl in my eyes and wear black lipstick,” says, Molina Singh, 21, who works in content marketing.
“Instead of copying the Barbie looks from the movie, I am planning to do a desi Barbie look by wearing a pink crop top and pink ghagra for a Halloween-themed watch party that I am attending. While my outfit does not have any spooky elements, I think the pink outfit will be a nice break from basic Halloween colours,” says Saberi, 21, a research fellow.

“I am dressing up as Krul Tepes, the vampire queen of Japan is the character from the anime Seraph Of The End. I personally like her style. She is a vampire, but she is cute. So, I thought this would be the perfect character for Halloween,” says Meeni, 24, a brand strategist.
Janvi Negi, 22, a tech consultant, who goes by the stage name Thykage, shares, “I’m going as Himiko Toga from the manga series Boku No Hero Academia. I’ve been working on her costume and wig for a while. I love her maniac character.”

“Katana Man has all the Halloween elements – a scary face, blades coming out from the head and carrying two katanas in both hands, with blood splatter on the props and an all-black outfit. It’s perfect for spooking people out. I prepared a freehand template for props and made them using foam sheet and foam clay,” says Vipin Arya, 35, who works in the esports industry.

Archit Jain, 29, a claims adjuster at an MNC, shares his Halloween plans, says, “For Halloween this year, I am cosplaying serial killer Patrick Bateman from the movie American Psycho (2000). The character is a classic. Being a cosplayer, it’s another level of enjoyment celebrating the festival.”

“I have been dressing up for Halloween since I was 14. It’s always been fun. As a cosplayer, options for picking a costume for Halloween are limitless. However, I prefer to keep it more traditional. I did Beetlejuice last time, this year I am going as Ursula, who is the sea witch, from The Little Mermaid,” sharesAorin Shariyari, 32, country market manager in a tech firm.
