MUMBAI: This could be good news for Mumbai’s Navratri and Durga puja pandals which require a huge supply of power during the festival period.
BEST undertakings in island city, Tata Power across Mumbai and Adani Electricity in suburbs announced “subsidized residential” power tariff to all puja pandals who apply for connection.
This will save the power supply costs for the pandals to a greater extent.
Also, connections will be expedited within 48 hours upon receiving the application.
The power utilities will also have operation squads to maintain reliability of supply.
The firms have appealed to puja organizers to take authorized power connections and there will be a serious crackdown on those pilfering electricity.
A few firms are also spreading awareness on safety precautions to be taken to prevent electric mishaps/ fires at the pandals.
