MUMBAI: For the convenience of Navratri revellers, there will be 14 additional services of Metro between 10.30 pm and 12.20 pm between October 19 and 23 on Line 2A and 7 (Gundavli-Dahisar-Andheri west). At present, services on this corridor operate between 5.55 am and 10.30 pm on weekdays (Monday to Friday). These 14 additional services will be operated in the interval of 15 minutes.
The last Metro will arrive at Andheri (West) on Metro Route 2A and Gundvali on Metro Route 7 at 1:30 pm. The decision to operate special servieces comes after directions by chief minister Eknath Shinde, who said, “This extended service will enable Mumbaikars to celebrate Navratri festival with enthusiasm. So far, around 5 crore citizens have traveled on this eco-friendly Metro and have shown their preference for it.”
At present, around 253 services are running between Gundvali and Andheri West on Metro Route 2A and 7 from Monday to Friday from 5.55 am to 10.30 pm at an interval of 7.5 to 10.5 minutes. Also on Saturday, 238 and Sunday 205 services are running at an interval of 8 to 10-and-a-half minutes.
