THANE: A case has been filed against a 30-year-old man from Kalyan in Maharashtra’s Thane district for reportedly assaulting two individuals with an iron rod at a Lord Ganesh pandal.
According to an official statement on Tuesday, the accused, identified as Kunal Ingle, was allegedly inebriated during the incident, which occurred on Monday evening. As of now, the authorities have not taken Ingle into custody.
The altercation transpired while decoration work was in progress at the pandal, leading to Ingle’s confrontation with the two men and his subsequent assault on them using an iron rod.
The police have registered a case against Kunal Ingle, invoking sections 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
