TRICHY: The Trichy district administration has declared local holidays for the district on April 18 and 19 (Tuesday and Wednesday) in view of the Chithirai temple car festivals at Samayapuram Mariamman and Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temples.
All state government offices shall remain closed, but examinations in schools and colleges that were already scheduled would be conducted as per the plan, the district administration said in a press release on Monday. Treasuries will function with minimal employees.
District collector M Pradeep Kumar said April 29 and May 13 (both Saturdays) will be working days to compensate for the two local holidays.
