Dengue Fever: 93-yr-old Loses 2-week Fight With Dengue | Kolkata News



Kolkata: A 93-year-old woman who had tested dengue positive about two weeks ago died at IPGMER on Tuesday. Sources said the nonagenarian was a resident from a south Kolkata locality.
She was admitted to Sambhunath Pandit Hospital, which functions under IPGMER, about 10 days ago with dengue fever. Doctors said the elderly woman had a host of comorbidities and had developed secondary infections during her hospital stay.
There have been reports of more than 40 dengue-related deaths across the state so far. Health experts said that the outbreak is yet to peak. They fear the dengue mayhem may slow down only towards October-end. tnn
