In terms of wealth, the Hinduja Group, led by Gopichand Hinduja and his family, emerges as the wealthiest NRI, boasting a combined fortune of Rs 1,76,500 crore.

Turning focus to India’s wealthiest, Mukesh Ambani has surged ahead of Gautam Adani to secure the top spot on the 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List for 2023. Ambani’s wealth has witnessed a modest 2% increase, bringing his total net worth to an astounding Rs 8.08 lakh crore. In contrast, Gautam Adani has experienced a significant 57% decline in his wealth, resulting in a total fortune of Rs 4.74 lakh crore.

The report also highlights India’s remarkable wealth growth, with the addition of two new billionaires every three weeks over the past year. India now boasts 259 billionaires, marking a 4.4-fold increase over the past 12 years, according to Hurun.
The list notes that 51 individuals have seen their wealth double this year, compared to 24 individuals last year.
In terms of city-wise representation, Mumbai leads the India Rich list with 328 individuals, followed by New Delhi at 199 and Bengaluru at 100. Notably, Tiruppur makes its debut among the top 20 cities contributing the highest number of entrants to the list.
