KOLKATA: West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose on Saturday evening spent his time with the children and elderly women residing at the home of All Bengal Women’s Union.
The elderly citizens of the old age home along with the children had a gala time with the governor. Bose presented them with an assortment of delightful fruits and sweets, brightening their festival days.
The governor invited 50 children from the home to enjoy a wonderful holiday trip to the Tulip Garden in Darjeeling Raj Bhavan. Likewise, 50 senior women were also invited to visit Rajbhavan in Darjeeling.
The governor also announced the Rajbhavan’s sponsorship for an aspiring nursing student’s educational expenses, amounting to Rs 2 lakh.
Bose also assured support for the wedding of two young girls residing in the home, to be held at Raj Bhavan. The governor even expressed a desire to purchase embroidery materials crafted by the talented senior women inmates, in order to present them as special gifts to distinguished guests of Raj Bhavan.
