UBT activist assault case: Non-Cognizable offence registered in Thane | Thane News



THANE: The kasarwadavali police has registered a Non-Cognizable offence in the alleged Roshni Shinde assault case and mentioned two ‘unidentified’ women as the opponents.
After a huge Morcha was taken out by the Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray and the alias of Maha Vikas Aghadi against the incident, only after that Thane police swung into action.
Had the police taken swift action earlier, the situation would be in control, said a source.
The preliminary probe into investigating the NC was carried out under section 155 (2) of the CrPC where they had to seek nod from the magistrate court which the Kasarwadavali police got.
A police officer privy to the probe said that Kasarwadvali police got a complaint from Shinde on Tuesday. Prima facia , the incident according to police occurred due to political rivalry. The injuries she sustained are normal.
The police also took the statement of two women who are said to be the ‘witness’. The preliminary probe revealed that there was a verbal duel, and two women slapped Shinde. Some of the onlookers intervened . Also, the complaint given by Shinde cannot be said to be completely true.
As the issue is sensitive, the NC was registered under section 323 of Indian penal code and the magistrate court has given permission to investigate the complaint further.
On the other hand, the women’s commission issued notice to the Thane police on the issue and it is learnt that the police has replied to it.
