Two Forge Dead Director’s Sign To Take Over Firm |



Thane: The Naupada police in Thane have booked two persons for forging the signature of a company’s deceased director on legal papers in order to take over the firm.
The complainant in the case is the son of the late director, the police said.
According to the statement given by the complainant, his parents were directors in the company that was into manufacturing of disposable instruments and one of the accused was their business associates. While one accused is from Mulund the other is from Naroda, Ahmedabad.
The duo has allegedly been forging the signatures on documents and records since 2017 and did it even for submissions with the company’s registrar to illegally take it over.
One of the accused had allegedly given a loan of Rs 20 lakh to a director of the company. However, when the latter was unable to repay it, he gave the accused a small place at their manufacturing plot in Navi Mumbai. After the directors passed away, the accused reportedly forged the signatures on legal documents and gradually took over the company. Also, the same documents were submitted to the company’s registrar, the complaint stated.
Adv. Vaibhav Satam who represented the victim in the court said a magistrate court in deciding on an application by the victim directed the Thane police to register FIR against the accused persons under 156 (3) of the CrPc. “The police initially had not taken the FIR against the accused duo hence we had moved to the magistrate court who then under 156(3) CrPC directed the police to register the offence and investigate the same.
The Naupada police then registered a case under various sections of cheating forgery and criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code and launched the probe.

The CBI has arrested a sub inspector and an assistant sub inspector of the Bihar Police in connection with an alleged case of an accused escaping from police custody. The sub inspector was the station house officer at the time, while the assistant sub inspector was the investigation officer. The CBI has been granted a five-day remand to further interrogate the officers. The case was transferred to the CBI by the high court due to suspicions of foul play in the investigation.
