Addressing a joint press conference on Tuesday, the allies demanded that the toll should be waived for those having their vehicles with the MH-04 and MH-05 passes.
One of the MVA leaders said that Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde had agitated against the toll waiver in the past.
The alliance partners also highlighted the plight of motorists on badly managed city roads.
They pointed out that the dividers are installed in the middle of the road where it is not required.
The hawkers’ menace too has grown in recent times as they have occupied many roads.
The narrowing of the city roads by the hawkers leads to the traffic congestion at various locations of the city.
A Congress leader pointed out that due to lack of proper planning various government agencies are spending tax-payers money on the dividers, which is also one of the key reasons that has given rise to the traffic issues.
The leaders of MVA from Thane leaders expressed their displeasure over the unauthorized buildings that have mushroomed across the jurisdiction of the Thane Municipal Corporation.
A leader also pointed out that the material required for the construction of the illegal buildings are transported by the heavy vehicles in the narrow lanes that is also triggering traffic snarls in the city area.
The MVA leader also alleged that the government has failed to construct alternative roads as well as sub-ways or expansions of the roads.
