CHENNAI: A software engineer was fatally run over by a bus when he was trying to cross the road at Jafferkhanpet in Chennai on Wednesday morning.
The Guindy traffic investigation wing (TIW) police said the man, Rishi Gautham, was a native of Dharmapuri and working in company in Taramani.
On Wednesday morning, he returned from Dharmapuri on a bus and got down at Jafferkhanpet. While he was crossing the road near Kasi Theatre, a TNSTC bus from Kumbakonam ran over him. Rishi died on the spot.
The police detained bus driver Ratchagarajan.
