Security beefed up around Delhi churches after blast in convention centre in Kerala | Delhi News



NEW DELHI: In response to the recent explosion at a convention center in Kerala, security measures have been significantly enhanced in the national capital Delhi.

A high-ranking police official, on condition of anonymity, disclosed that security has been intensified in various key areas, including markets, churches, metro stations, bus stands, railway stations, and other public spaces.

The official mentioned that teams have been instructed to set up barricades along the border areas from both the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana sides. In addition, plainclothes police officers, patrolling units, and police control room personnel have been placed on high alert, with strict instructions not to disregard any information they receive.
The official further emphasized that they are already closely monitoring densely populated markets, and extra police units have been deployed, taking into account the ongoing festival season.

The incident in Kerala occurred on Sunday when an explosion occurred at a convention center in Kalamassery, resulting in the tragic death of a woman and injuries to 36 others. Sources have indicated that the Special Cell of the Delhi Police is maintaining continuous communication with central agencies regarding the incident.
