MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray has filed an intervention application before the Bombay high court seeking to be heard before any order is passed in a public interest litigation (PIL) that seeks a status report on the probes into the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager Disha Salian in 2020. The PIL, filed on September 27, also seeks directions from the HC to probe agencies to probe allegations made by a BJP MLA against Thackeray.
Thackeray’s plea, filed October 13 through advocate Rahul Arote, claimed that the PIL, filed by the Supreme Court and High Court Litigants’ Association through its president Rashid Khan Pathan, is “frivolous”. He said the PIL seeks “substantial relief against” him “in a matter which has already been investigated by various agencies” hence he be heard as he would “be adversely affected” by any orders. On October 17, the petitioner filed a perjury plea against Thackeray. The matter is likely to be heard on October 20.
