CHENNAI: The state selection committee has withheld the round three results of MD/MS courses in Tamil Nadu after the Madras high court directed the committee not to declare the results of one course — MD (general medicine).
On October 5, hearing petitions from three students, Justice Anita Sumanth said results would not be declared in “MD (general medicine) course alone” until further orders of the court.
She added, “There is no restriction placed regarding the declaration of results for other courses.”
However, officials withheld the results for all as candidates due to technical reasons. “The software does not permit us to isolate MD general medicine from the rest. We have submitted this fact to the court and sought early relief,” a senior official in the selection committee said.
“Candidates fill nearly 40-80 choices during online counselling. So, it’s not possible to isolate each branch as the subsequent selection of candidates depends on the earlier allotment,” the official said.
The case has been posted for further hearing on Monday. “We are hoping to get it sorted by then,” the official told TOI.
