Mumbai: Traffic Police issues restrictions for heavy vehicles, private buses during Ganeshotsav | Mumbai News



MUMBAI: Traffic Police have announced restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles and private buses in the upcoming festive season in Mumbai.

  • South Mumbai: Heavy vehicles and private buses will be restricted from entering and plying on roads in south Mumbai on September 21, 24, 26 and 29. On other days between September 19 and 29, they will be allowed to ply between 12 am and 7 am.

  • Greater Mumbai except South Mumbai: Heavy vehicles and private buses will be restricted from entering and plying on roads from 11 am to 1 am of the next day on September 20, 23 and 25. These vehicles will be forbidden to enter the city and ply on roads on September 28 from 10 am to 6 am on September 29. On other days between September 19 and 29, all heavy vehicles and private buses will be forbidden from entering the city and plying on roads from 8 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 9 pm.

  • Essential service providing vehicles such as ambulances, vegetables, milk and bakery produce providers, government and semi government vehicles, drinking water providers, petroleum vehicles and school buses have been exempted.

  • All private buses carrying passengers entering and leaving the city and all heavy vehicles including the ones exempted shall be parked at their privately owned spaces or rente spaces or authorised parking lots. On street parking will be prohibited.
