MUMBAI: A 38-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run close to the Magathane Metro station at Borivali East in Mumbai on Monday. The Kasturba Marg police have registered a case of negligence against an unknown person.
A patrolling police vehicle was informed by the control room around 1pm about the incident. On reaching the Magathane flyover, they found a man lying unconscious near the divider on the north-bound stretch of the Western Express Highway.
He was rushed to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivali where doctors pronounced him dead.
Later police found one of his friends at the crash location and brought him to the hospital.
He identified the victim as Devlal Soren, 38. Soren was a native of Bihar and his friend called up his family to inform them of the crash. Soren was a labourer.
Police are checking CCTVs on the WEH to find out who the culprit was.
