Mumbai: 200 commuters sign up petition demanding better frequency, more buses for BEST | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: More than 200 citizens signed up a petition by Aamchi Mumbai Aamchi BEST near Andheri West bus station for voicing their protest against bad frequency of buses and long waits at some of the bus stops in the Maharashra capital on Monday.
A few citizens also took the mike and expressed their frustration waiting for buses and demanded that BEST should procure more buses at the earliest.
The BEST fleet had recently dropped to its lowest in recent years at 2,969 buses.
A volunteer from AMAB said that the next signature campaign will be at Agarkar chowk in Andheri East on October 16.
On the complaint of Nitesh, police filed an FIR against unidentified persons and formed a team who on Monday evening arrested the accused from Mumbai.
Sarjerao Patil, senior police inspector of Khadakpada police station, said, “We have arrested the accused who had fled to Mumbai.”
