Man poses as bank employee dupes 24-year-old of Rs 5.2 lakh | Thane News



THANE: A 24-year-old woman has been duped of Rs 5.24 lakh by an online fraudster who posed as an employee of a private bank and tricked her, the police informed on Wednesday. The complainant received a call from a man who claimed to be from the ‘credit card department of the bank’ and told her that the premium of health insurance she had availed would be deducted soon.
The accused sent her a link and offered to guide her. The victim followed his directions and later received a text message from the bank saying that Rs 5.2 lakh was deducted from her account.
