THANE: Chief minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said that he along with other Shiv Sena leaders will visit Ayodhya on April 9 and offer prayers at the temple there.
Shinde said they plan to construct a Maharashtra Sadan in Uttar Pradesh.
While addressing the media, at the Anand Ashram, the place where he grew politically under the guidance of his mentor Anand Dighe, the CM said that he will also perform aarti on the banks of the Saryu river.
“We will also visit the site where the huge Sri Ram Temple is coming up,” he said.
He said, as a part of the contribution of Maharashtra, woods of Saag, required for the temple, will be donated by the state. He recalled that Anand Dighe had then donated a silver brick for the temple.
He also said that the Maharashtra Sadan will come up in Uttar Pradesh as planned.
Without naming the former chief minister Uddhav, he said that he only looked into his personal benefits or his family’s and near and dear ones’, leaving the activities to lurch.
Replying to a question related to recent riots in the state, he said that any attempt to disturb the peace will be dealt firmly and he has given instructions to the police chiefs to handle the situation strongly.
