MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) has announced that the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions to PhD/M Phil programmes at the university will be conducted on October 8.
As per an official notification from the R&D cell of MKU, it was informed that CET has been scheduled to be held on October 8 (Sunday) for two hours from 11am to 1pm.
The venue for the exam will be the Madurai Kamaraj University Day College, Alagar Kovil Main Road, Tallakulam, Madurai.
Hall tickets for the CET can be downloaded from the MKU website from September 29 onwards. Only the registered candidates with hall tickets will be permitted to take up the exam.
The exam will be based on the PG level syllabus in the concerned subject. The exam pattern will consist of Multiple Choice Objective Questions (MCQs), with 50 marks for research aptitude, english comprehension, logic and general reasoning, and 50 marks for the subject concerned. MKU offers Ph D (Full Time/Part Time) Programmes in 49 subjects and M Phil (Regular) programmes in 43 subjects in its departments and affiliated colleges. It may also be noted that appearing and clearing the entrance examination entails only the eligibility of a candidate for admission to the Ph D / M Phil degree programmes of the university and shall not guarantee admission to any Ph D / M Phil degree programmes of the university.
