KOLKATA: Etihad Airways resumed operation from Kolkata on Sunday. It will operate direct flights from the city to Abu Dhabi seven times a week. On Sunday, 152 passengers came from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata on the first flight after resumption of services and another 126 flew out of the city to Abu Dhabi.
The airline will operate flights between Kolkata and Abu Dhabi International Airport on four days a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Etihad Airways had withdrawn operations from Kolkata after the onset of Covid and with the introduction of the carrier, the city now has five different airlines flying from the city and the Gulf all days with direct links all days of the week.
Senior officials – airport director C Pattabhi, the regional executive director Manoj Gangal, AOC chairman Rahul Wadhwa and Etihad country head Salil Nath and his team – were at Kolkata airport welcoming passengers on Sunday.
