Chennai: Jaya Hind Industries, a supplier of precision aluminium die-cast components, is investing ₹200 crore to expand its aluminium die-casting facility near Chennai. The move will raise the plant’s installed capacity to about 20,000 tonnes per year and add advanced, vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities. The company, which is part of the Dr. Abhay Firodia Group, is undertaking a capacity expansion at its factory located in Kottaiyur Village, Thiruvallur district, near Chennai. As part of the project, the company will install high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) machines ranging from 1,400 to 4,400 tonnes, enabling the production of a broad mix of components—from conventional internal combustion engine parts to EV components and large structural castings, according to a statement.A new shed of nearly 13,000 sq. metres will be constructed to house the additional die-casting and machining lines, allowing the Chennai unit to function as a fully vertically integrated facility. The capacity addition is being driven by a strong pipeline of new orders that has fully utilised the plant’s existing capacity. Once operational, the expanded facility will support Jaya Hind’s growing customer base, including export clients such as Cummins and Generac, domestic OEMs like TVS Motor Company in the super-premium segment, and emerging EV module manufacturers.“With strong order momentum across domestic and export markets, the Chennai facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting our die-casting capacity while deepening vertical integration. By investing in advanced HPDC and machining capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to deliver complex aluminium solutions with greater control and speed,” said Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Jaya Hind Industries.JHI has manufacturing facilities at Akurdi and Urse in Maharashtra, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, and Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh.
