Indian Coast Guard chief in Kolkata to assess operational readiness of the force | Kolkata News


KOLKATA: Director general of Indian Coast Guard Rakesh Pal visited the coast guard headquarters (north east) in West Bengal capital Kolkata on Wednesday where he was received with ceremonial 50-man Guard of Honour and was presented with an overview on Coast Guard operational and on-going Coast Guard infrastructure development projects in West Bengal and Odisha, a press statement released by ICG stated.

On his maiden visit to the regional headquarters in Kolkata between October 10 and October 13, the DG will review the operational readiness and status of ongoing infrastructure development projects in West Bengal, which would involve inspecting afloat facilities and equipment at Haldia and visit to forward ICG base at Frazerganj.
In his address on Wednesday, the flag officer apprised officers and men of ICG on policy reviews, upcoming development in terms of infrastructure, augmentation of CG Fleet and international cooperation.
The DG will be chairing the National Maritime Search and Rescue Board (NMSARB) meeting to be conducted on Thursday in Kolkata.
