CHENNAI: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation is offering training in new age skills such as generative AI, prompt engineering, data analytics, machine learning and drone pilot training for freshers.
Each course will have 30 to 50 students in a batch. Duration of these programmes will be from four weeks to eight weeks. Candidates who come out of colleges and employees with less than five years of experience can join these programmes.
The MoU was signed recently between IITM Pravartak and five startups — Crion Versity, Dataswitch, Neekan Consulting, Rudram Dynamics and Skill Angels — to offer these programmes in niche areas.
Generative AI is the artificial intelligence capable of generating text, images or other media, using generative models.
“Generative AI has started to capture everyone’s attention and is being deployed in all fields. The course will be useful to candidates who already know about data analytics and they can get updated with this skilling programme,” said Balamurali Shankar, general manager, Digital Skills Academy of IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation.
“The uniqueness is that practitioners will offer these programmes. Since these startups are working in these domains they will be up to date with the technologies,” he added.
All these startups are working in different domains.
“One of the startups, SkillAngels, uses gamification, animation and adaptive learning strategies for cognitive assessments and upskilling,” MJ Shankar Raman, CEO, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation.
IIT-Madras said it expects two important outcomes from its collaboration with the startups which include understanding cutting edge technologies through contents and platform belonging to startups and developing solutions for niche problem areas in artificial intelligence and data science.
