KALYAN: Arvind More, the Kalyan district president of Shiv Sena’s Shinde group, has made a noteworthy statement regarding the issuance of notices to Marathas by the police while the chief minister hails from the Maratha community.
More’s statement has sparked discussions in political circles.
During a protest organized by the Maratha community in Kalyan on Friday, More expressed his solidarity with the cause. He also declared that he would resign from his post if the state government does not grant reservations to the Maratha community.
The Maratha community has once again intensified their efforts statewide to secure reservations. Following the resumption of a fast by Maratha community activist Jarange Patil in pursuit of reservations, many members of the Maratha community have initiated protests at various locations, including Kalyan.
During the protest in Kalyan, More stood alongside community members and boldly stated, “If Marathas are receiving police notices while the chief minister belongs to the Maratha community, we reject such a chief minister.”
