History-sheeter from UP held in Panvel in joint operation by Navi Mumbai police and Varanasi unit of STF | Thane News



THANE: A notorious criminal with a criminal record in Uttar Pradesh, who had a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture, was apprehended in a collaborative operation involving the Navi Mumbai Police and the Special Task Force unit in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, it was reported.
The 23-year-old individual known as Haris, also recognized as Chhotu Abdul Aziz, had managed to evade authorities in Uttar Pradesh for two months.
He had been hiding in Panvel, and it was through a tip-off that the Panvel police station’s senior inspector, Niteen Thackeray, was able to apprehend him.
PTI quoted Thackeray as saying, the individual has a total of 33 cases registered against him, which includes charges under the Gangster Act, as well as offenses such as double murder with dacoity and attempted murder.
He originates from Azamgarh and carries a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture.
Aziz had been operating an aggregator cab in Panvel and nearby regions, utilizing his brother’s license and other identification documents, as confirmed by Thackeray.
The search operation that culminated in his arrest received assistance from Shailendra Singh, the deputy superintendent of police from the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.
