Heavy rain lashes parts of Delhi-NCR, brings respite from heat



NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed several parts of the national capital on Saturday afternoon. NCR cities too received heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds. The change in weather provided much-needed relief to the residents.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius on Saturday, which was three notches above the season’s average.
Several parts of the city, including east Delhi, Shahdara, northeast Delhi, south, witnessed rain after a cloudy weather.
The IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle during the day. The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 36 degrees Celsius. The humidity recorded at 8.30am was 84 per cent.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 112 at around 12pm.
