CHENNAI: The gram sabha meetings in village panchayats will be held across the state on October 2 with the theme ‘Everything for Everyone‘.
Chief minister M K Stalin will make opening remarks for the event, virtually, while ministers would take part in districts. The meetings are held six times a year.
The government has chosen ‘everything for everyone’ as the theme for the upcoming meeting, aiming at inclusive, accountable and public-centric local administration. Pamphlets would be distributed to all houses with details of beneficiaries of the government’s flagship programmes, revenue account, schemes and programmes of the panchayats. “Arrangements have been made to screen short films on flagship programmes, beneficiaries and benefits,” an official release said. The gram sabha meetings will also get to see discussion on awareness to prevent dengue, rainwater harvesting, precautionary measures for northeast monsoon
