GRAP has four stages — stage I when AQI is ranging between 201 and 300, stage II when AQI is 301-400, stage III when AQI is 401-450 and stage IV when AQI is 450-500.
The Graded Response Action Plan (GARP) also recommends strict enforcement of the orders of the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal on overage diesel and petrol vehicles under Stage 1.
- Here’s a list of restrictions in stage one if the AQI is in the range of 201-300.
>Not to permit construction & demolition activities in projects with plot size equal to or more than 500
sqm, which are not registered on the web portals of the NCR states for remote monitoring of dust mitigation measures.
> Carry out periodic mechanised sweeping and water sprinkling on roads and ensure scientific disposal of dust.
> Strictly enforce NGT/Supreme Court’s orders on overaged vehicles.
> Ensure use of only approved fuels by NCR industries, including in brick kilns and hot mix plants, and enforce closure in case of violations.
> Enforce court/tribunal orders on firecracker ban.
> Enforce complete ban on coal/firewood in tandoors in hotels, restaurants, open eateries.
> Ensure that construction & demolition materials & waste are properly stored/ contained, duly covered in the premises.
> Ensure transportation of construction & demolition waste in covered vehicles and its recycling at an appropriate processing facility.
