The state of Tamil Nadu in India is planning to create 38 exclusive walking corridors, with the first one set to be unveiled in Chennai. The 8km circuit will run from Adyar to Besant Nagar and will be free of traffic from 5am to 8am. The corridors will also feature benches for walkers and regular health check camps. The initiative aims to improve public health by promoting walking and preventing non-communicable diseases. The state’s chief minister will inaugurate the walking corridor on November 4.
