PALGHAR: A 74-year-old woman named Jayanti Mhatre died due to electric shock after she came in contact with an electrict poll during Ganpati Visarjan procession in Nalla Sopara area in Palghar district.
The incident unfolded as Mhatre ventured outside her residence on Thursday evening to witness the visarjan procession.
She accidentally came in contact with an electric pole and lost consciousness. She was transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, her condition did not improve, and she was subsequently pronounced dead.
