THANE: Two residents suffered minor burns after they accidentally came in contact with an electric cable in the Sabegaon area of Diva late on Monday, officials said.
Yasin Tadvi, the in-charge of the Thane regional disaster management cell, said the incident was reported around 11pm when locals reported minor blasts and sparking from a power cable in Sabegaon area. Suraj Gurav (21) and Ashutosh Kumar (22), who were in the vicinity, suffered burn injuries in the incident and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
“Gurav suffered 10% burns while Kumar suffered minor injuries and are recuperating at a hospital. The power company is investigating the incident,” Tadvi said.
