Man wanted for murder held after 11 yrs | Delhi News


New Delhi: Police arrested a 43-year-old man who had been absconding for 11 years in a 2014 Ranhola murder case. Lakhan Singh, 43, was traced to Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh after years of hiding across Rajasthan, Haryana, and UP.The case dates back to Nov 21, 2014, when Ranhola police found a body lying along the bank of the drain near Khedi Baba Bridge. Officers found an unidentified man, aged around 40–45, with deep injuries on his face, the back of his head, and other parts of his body. A murder case was registered. The victim was later identified as Rakesh. During the investigation, police named Lakhan Singh as the key accused, but he went underground immediately and was eventually declared a proclaimed offender in 2015.“A police team received intel indicating that Singh, was likely hiding in western UP. Police verified records and launched technical surveillance to narrow down his movements,” DCP (Crime) Pankaj Kumar said. The team conducted raids in Kasganj on Dec 10, and Singh was apprehended.Police said the accused, originally from Karauli in Rajasthan, studied only up to Class 5 and worked as a POP labourer after migrating to Najafgarh.
