Chennai: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has extended full support to the state-wide hunger strike by the joint action council of Tamil Nadu teachers’ organisations and government employees’ organisations (Jacto-Geo), urging govt to fulfil their 10 major demands. Jacto-Geo has been demanding that govt restore the old pension scheme, regularise temporary and part-time staff, and fill vacancies in govt departments. In a post on X on Saturday, Anbumani accused DMK govt of repeatedly ‘betraying’ teachers and govt employees. He noted that almost all of the 10 key demands have been raised for nearly two decades and DMK had supported them while in the opposition, but has refused to implement them after forming govt.
